It's arrived!

Wow!
I am so addicted in every way possible to this adorable new game!
I was actually a tad worried that Sunshine islands would be rather similar to Island of Happiness (in the bad ways), such as the constant stylus use for navigating around the maps and farming. I mean, i use the stylus quite a bit and i do find i use it more and more especially toggling the menu's..however for navigating around the map i do prefer to use the D pad.

I also got my plush with the game because i pre ordered! Its an adorable pig plush and it honestly is very adorable.

The shop keepers and town people are still the same with no new surprises as of yet..well there was a few new faces to me but then again i did not get very far into IOH due to time contraints and the fact i couldnt even get an animal due to the constant fatigued state of my character!

I would deffinatly rate this game a 9.5, i would love to give it a ten but unfortunatly i have yet to play the entire game.

The down sides i have found to the game were the same poeple..i guess its fun to keep seeing the same villagers but it feels weird having to meet them all over again..and i love the surprise of new villagers and new roles and personalities.
I also felt the map was somewhat smaller compared to that of the IOH game. I mean, sure there were more islands that you could visit but you wouldnt necessarily use these places often and there was no natural fruit and supplies that could be picked from these areas.

All in all i did enjoy the game and the added convenience of the cafe just down from the ranch for an evening snack of tofu and steamed fish for replenishing my hunger and stamina!

I will report on the game more as i get further though it!

Harvest Moon & Squidoo

Today i found a great website to post more articles about Harvest Moon! I have recently joined Squidoo which is a website that lets you write articles about anything you wish! The great thing is that you can add your own images, your links to your Ebay, Amazon and Etsy shop (if you have them!) and this basically helps your online shop OR if you don't have one, then you can easily make money from others clicking the ebay links to other popular items which will appear on your page.
I have made a Harvest Moon article HERE. It has polls, images, blog article links and other cool things!
Squidoo looks like a promising site to write great articles and earn money!

Harvest Moon: Sunshine Islands + Pre Order Plush

FINALLY you can have your own soft adorable farm pig to hug and love-free if you pre-order the newest harvest moon sequal- Harvest Moon: Sunshine Islands! Pre order from GameStop to receive this awesome offer! I have actually just pre-ordered my own copy and i really hope they dont run out of pigs before they pack my order up!
The new game is set to be released in North America on the 10th Novemeber 2009. HOWEVER, if your not able to order online or pre-order for this great deal, there will be plush pigs given away when you buy your copy of the game in store at GameStop-however due to a limited number of these little guys, you may need to camp out on the street all night to ensure you're one of the first to get your hands on the game and plush combo.

While im releasing new games and dates, it might be worthwhile to mention another HM game set for release on the exact same day! HM Overload!!
This new game is called Animal Parade and is for the Nintendo Wii-So now you really WILL feel like your moving about on a farm! This game can be pre-ordered on Gamestop online or in store and if you do this you will also receive (again) a free plush! This time its a duck and probably not as cute as the pig, but if you want to get a HM plush collection it seems Novemeber is a great month to start!

Happy Farming!

Harvest Moon Universe

Welcome to the Harvest Moon Universe Blog!

As you may or may not have noticed, over the last couple of years, Natsume have been busy releasing many version of the ever popular Harvest Moon series for the DS & Playstation consoles.
While it used to be a struggle to find HM games such as: HM Friends of Mineral Town for PS1, it is now easier then ever (Woohoo!). The HM franchise is expanding worldwide, which has seen as many as 2 or 3 titles being released each year. Many of these are spin-offs or puzzle versions of the HM games, but it shows the strength Natsume has in delivering much loved games to their loyal consumers.

While sheering a real life sheep, and getting muddy chasing pigs may not sound like much fun to you, Natsume has descovered a way to bring you Back to Nature and into the wonderful world of digital farming. Why get your hands dirty on a real live animal when you can rub the Nintendo DS touch pad to sheer a sheep? Or a flick of the stylus to cut the grass? Harvest moon is a truely enjoyable game for all those farm lovers who dont actually enjoy leaving the house!
